Dear Harvard Tennis Family,

There will be two big matches this weekend at the Murr including our contest with the #32 Tulane Green Waves at 5pm on Friday and the #37 Drake Bulldogs on Sunday at 10am.  Please join us for some top flight tennis against strong national opponents.  The preview of the weekend matches can be found here.

Last week, the team was training and competing in Dallas at the ITA Kick-Off.  We spent three days training at the courts at SMU and staying with host families before competing against Oklahoma State and San Diego State in Fort Worth.  We suffered our first loss of the young season to a very tough Cowboy team on Saturday (they would go on to lose 4-3 to #3 TCU in the finals).  They were solid from top to bottom of their line-up and had great composure.  But the Crimson responded by rallying against the Aztecs of San Diego State on Sunday.  The contest hung in the balance until the last match when Grant Solomon (of Dallas TX) pulled out the victory in the third set of six singles.  Grant was down a set and 4-1 before changing the mojo of the match and storming back.  By the last point in the third set, his hand was cramping but he still managed to roll a great backhand passing shot for the win!  Click here to read more about the match and see all the scores.

Go Crimson!
