Ceboride East 2012! Done!

To unsubscribe, please write directly to me at fish@fas.harvard.edu.  I think we have just about everyone off who was put on by accident.  Thanks.

Ceboride 2012  - Made it!

Thanks to all of you who have already made a donation to Sarnelli House for Ceboride.  To those who have the urge, but haven't quite gotten around to it, you can still help!

You haven't put your faith in us in vain…we were tired, but made it across the finish line. The last 25 was tough!  Our seventh Ceboride, which we have now nicknamed "Ceboride East."

Last year, figuring that with our luck flats were unavoidable, we decided to do two "spins" around the 50-mile segment of the famous Prouty Ride (3200 riders each summer, raising money for the Dartmouth Mary Hitchcock Cancer Center).  After last year's ride, we realized it was much harder psychologically to do 50, and then start all over again!), so we went for the Century segment this time.

Weather was great…nothing to complain about.  Bonnie still gets frozen in the early morning, and I still have enough fat to keep me comfortable…but I go faster down hill!

The hills were not as steep as we train on at home (the Allston hills, and the Boston Marathon Heartbreak Hills in Newton), but they were longer.  The route had more variety than last year's segment (duh!).   Lovely corn fields in abundance, waterfalls, lakes, birdsong… weeds and wildflowers still live effortlessly together, looking much better in nature than on our front lawn…next year we just have to get rid of the damn cars!  Without doubt, it's worth all the hard work just to experience it all.

In the end, though, motivation got us through. We were always fueled by the thought of what the kids of Sarnelli House have already gone through in their short lives.

Thanks again to all of you for your support.  If you haven't yet, but feel an overwhelming itch to do something now…as the Nike commercial goes, just do it!

Have a great rest of the summer, Everyone!

Dave and Bonnie
